Balmain Rugby Club are pleased to announce that the iconic Leichhardt Oval will become our home ground for the 2014 Season. Come & join us on the hallowed turf!

For the last few Seasons we have been negotiating with Leichhardt Council to move our home games to what will no doubt be the greatest ground in Australian Club rugby; the great Leichhardt Oval!

Thanks to the support from Mayor Darcy Byrne and his councilors the muzzled wolves will be moving grounds for 2014 when we will walk in the footsteps of the great Balmain Tigers Rugby League teams.

We will be setting up a gym under the grandstand so you can punch out a few of the weights that Siro used to eat and sweat where the great Blocker Roach used to sit.

Leichhardt Council will also be renaming our training ground next door; Leichhardt #2 ground to Billy Murdoch Field in recognition of the great sportsman and Balmain’s first Premiership winning captain in 1874. Check out our history section for more info on the great Billy.

This will be a significant step forward for Balmain Rugby Club and we look forward to having you on the field or in the stands with us at Leichhardt Oval in 2014.

We are Balmain!
